new headset

So, my new puppy destroyed my old headset, & I need a new one. I've been looking at the SteelSeries (formerly Icemat) Siberia set. Anyone have any other suggestions?

For about $20 more, you can get the PLANTRONICS GameCom 777 Gaming headset. These things look comfy.

I like my Z2200's just fine, thx very much, but what about a mic? & wouldn't any mic just pick up on the speaker noise? I seem to remember a few of the old 502 guys having such a setup & it being annoying as hell...

Never had any complaints about it myself. Then again, I haven't gotten any quake wars time in as of late....

Definitely get a headset with a mic. I believe it was Nomad who turned his speakers all the way up and had his mic set to VOX. Very annoying.

But I would say those Steelseries are the best looking ones on Newegg. Let me know how those work out for you if you get them. I need to get a set so the girlfriend doesn't kill me for my late night gaming.

I've got some Icemat Audio headphones, they're ok. Haven't had a set of headphones that really impressed me in a while. Should probably just fire up my Shure e-2c's instead of using the cans when I hit up the headphones...
